This Sunday marks the first week of advent, celebrating to hope of the King to come. During this pandemic Jesus is the one sure thing we can hold onto with certainty knowing He is coming again. Why not pray this prayer of hope in this season.
Lord Jesus, giver of hope, we call to you in these times of uncertainty and loneliness. Jesus do not leave us, keep us close and let us know your manifest presence today. Thank you Lord that you came as a child to this earth, weak and vulnerable as we are, you grew and faced the challenges of life that we do. Bring us comfort in our uncertainty today, we pray for a healing of the nations, that in the dark desperation of these times, your salvation would come to many.
Jesus keep us alert and watchful while we wait for your coming, may we not become lazy in our faith but instead be spurred on to the prize which you have shown to us. May we glorify you in all aspects of our life, but today we ask especially that we would glorify you to our neighbours both on our street and online. May our words be gracious, kind and filled with grace reflecting your character this season.
When Mary found out she carried our saviour she said:
"My soul praises the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, because he has looked with favour on the humble condition of His servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed because the mighty one has done great things for me, and His name is Holy."
Lord may our souls too praise your greatness and treat your name as holy, may we rejoice in you our saviour as we hope for coming.
May your name be glorified in all the earth.
